Global Health Research, Education,

and Translation

The Global Health Research, Education and Translation (GHREAT) Program at UC Irvine is a global health initiative currently housed within the Department of Population Health and Disease Prevention. The initiative was first established by UC Irvine Wen Public Health following the successful NIH Fogarty International Center for Advanced Studies in the Health Sciences for a Global Health Framework Program (5 R25 TW008125-02). GHREAT is committed to promoting global health awareness and developing a comprehensive global health research, education, and training program for undergraduate and graduate students.

GHREAT is dedicated to promoting awareness of global health issues in the UCI community through the analysis of news, trends, and research literature. We place an emphasis on global health research and will complete one research project per academic year. By creating an open and engaging forum for the discussion of global health topics, members will increase their understanding of global health issues both at home and abroad through an interdisciplinary lens.
