Hello, my name is Chisomam Agaranna and I’m currently a fourth year Public Health Sciences. I have been a part of GHREAT since my freshman year and I would like to say it has been one of the best decisions I made while at UCI. It was definitely informed me about health related issues that affect both the individual and community level. Through publications of the magazine and preparing for the UROP symposium, I have developed both qualitative and quantitative research skills and met an amazing group of students. In addition to GHREAT, I am involved in clinical based research in the Dermatology Department in UCI School of Medicine. I am also on the board of Minority Association of Pre-Medical Students (MAPS) and a general member of the Nigerian Student Association and Black Student Union. In my free time, I enjoy reading, watching reality TV, listening to music, hanging out with my friends and family, and trying new recipes!
Hello, I’m Jennifer! I am a second year Public Health Policy major and I am more than proud to serve as a member of GHREAT. Since engaging in global health research during my freshman year with an amazing group of devoted and passionate student leaders in GHREAT, I found myself inspiring and being inspired during the entire process. Global health is a diverse yet essential topic that needs to be addressed, and here at GHREAT, we strive to work towards spreading awareness about these health-related issues with the intention of protecting and maintaining the overall health of our communities on a community and global scale. I am eager to become exposed to a variety of numerous public health issues occurring internationally and learn how to create a difference for the overall well-being of diverse communities. I like associating myself with the little joys in life, like enjoying a good old iced latte, listening to music, or scavenging for new hobbies and interests!
Hi everyone! I’m Camille and I’m currently a third-year majoring in Public Health Policy and minoring in Health Informatics! I joined GHREAT during my sophomore year and it stays as one of the most beneficial decisions I’ve made during my college career. This organization gives me the opportunity to advance my knowledge in global health, understand health issues and disparities among all different cultures, and provide essential research skills related to my passion in public health. I also was blessed to find a wonderful community within GHREAT; getting to work and collaborate alongside several other members who also are interested in health is inspiring. Aside from GHREAT, I’m also a Learning Assistant for Professor Gideonese for the remainder of this year, and you may also find me in Kababayan and U See Eyes. In my free time, I love to go to concerts with friends, cuddle with my Maltipoo puppy, watch and cry over anime, and collect photocards of my favorite K-Pop idols.
