Hello, I’m Jennifer, a 4th year Public Health Policy student proudly serving as a member and student coordinator for GHREAT during my final year at UCI! Since my freshman year, being involved in global health research alongside such a passionate and dedicated group of student leaders has continuously inspired and educated me. Global health is a complex yet essential field that requires ongoing attention, and I’m eager to see all that GHREAT will accomplish this year as we work to raise awareness of important health-related issues and promote the well-being of our communities on both a local and global scale. Outside of GHREAT, I enjoy finding little joys in life through sweet treats and memorable side quests :)
Hi! I'm Ishana Das and I'm a 3rd year Human Biology major! I'm one of the GHREAT student board members this year and I'm super excited to continue being a part of GHREAT! I decided to join GHREAT because I wanted to learn more about Global Health issues and raise awareness about them. As a biology student, I wanted to learn the social and global side of health rather than just learning about the scientific side. As a returning member, GHREAT taught me how to research and analyze global health issues, and I've become aware of many different global health issues. I also joined GHREAT to learn how to be an advocate for people all over the world that are underserved in terms of health. I'm looking forward to learning about more perspective on health this year! In my free time, I love painting/drawing, playing my instruments, and listening to music. I enjoy reading, watching movies, baking, and going to concerts as well!
Hi everyone! My name is Gabriela (Gaby) Arce, and I am a third-year Biological Sciences major. I am excited for another year in GHREAT because, while my major is very science-heavy, GHREAT allows me to step back and broaden my understanding of global health and the factors that influence health issues around the world. It has helped me become more aware of global health disparities and the importance of research, advocacy, and education in creating change. This year, I look forward to deepening my involvement, learning more about our topic of vaccine hesitancy, and helping spread awareness. I’m especially excited to engage in research and collaborate with a team that shares similar passions. Outside of academics, I love going to the beach, listening to music, doing puzzles, reading, and spending time with loved ones. I’m grateful to be back and excited for another impactful year with GHREAT!
